Thompson

Try an experiment. At the end of a day, look back over the entire day, moment by moment, color , sound, sensation, thought...your entire experience. Much like cruising TVland with the remote, you find little micro-bursts of information. Crash, the morning headlines are always sooooo cheery, ring, the phone and who is selling what or asking you to support what? slam, into traffic or ping, we sign into the various messengers, emails etc... sniff... do we remember to eat? The President is reminding us to wash our hands, a ranking senator is asking the Secretary of the Treasury if a major financial institution --Citigroup --is a "zombie bank." It's definitely a time to do things differently. The pace of change in our lives make the fall leaves seem in slow motion. In the confusing, often contradictory reality of the present, a couple of things seem pretty clear.

The largest generation in history -- the Baby-Boomers, are well into their fifties, don't care about the latest fall fashion lipstick, but do wonder "Where is The Money and Who Took It?" After working killer hours for thirty years or so , their over-achieving selves are finally saying..hmmm.. maybe time to slow the pace a little. Only one problem... WHERE'S MY MONEY THAT I WORKED SO HARD FOR ALL THOSE YEARS?" There is a tide of anger among a group of social influencers old enough and savvy enough to shake things up if they ever rally their collective forces.

The recession will not be over by social pundits declaring it so on talk shows. It will be over when the backbone of this country and thus the world, the People of Mainstreet feel secure in living a decent life. The theme of mainstreet has to do with food, clothing, shelter, families and a sense of internal fulfillment about the meaning of their lives.

The bottom line? Each of us is now tasked with re-defining the "self-to-world" equation. Who we are internally and how that true self can express in this world in a positive, productive way.

I've been listening for a year now to all the "tips" on surviving the recession. You know, the "go back to school" or " find ways to use your other skill sets" kind of stuff. Sounds shallow to me. Anyone else bothered by the fact that a system built on my back so to speak has devolved into a cat and mouse game with our lives?

I'M BOTHERED!

So here is my recession survival plan. It might work for you. I claim the right to live MY LIFE as the person IAM. I reflect, meditate and commit to alignment with the highest good. I will live with clear intention, inner resolve and calmness. And the rest of it -- well --that's just static on the line and meaningless.

Be Well All. We'll Talk Again.
LInda
What a World!

We are living in an amazing time of wonder. Some of us are amazed at the opportunities present in the light-speed pace of our changing world. Some of us are amazed at the rapidity at which our once-rich asset base diminished. Some of us are amazed that so many are amazed by changing times since they are sure "it's all awful anyway." Some of us continue being amazed in the joy of sunrise and sky, a smile, a word of kindness for no reason. Pick your brand of amazement because they are all for you. Just choose. Decide. Be an active agent. Live your life rather than letting life live you.

There are historical precedents of watershed change that impacted past, present and future. The discovery of aspirin by ancient Egyptian astrologers, the first known use of gunpowder in ancient China--used for magnificent fireworks, the Roman conquest of Gaul ( known as England today), the first human steps on the moon, the renewal of the buffalo and the great Lakota Nation in the American west , and the inauguration of President Barack Obama as President of the United States on January 20,2009.

Honor the past, learn from it, and don't fall into the trap of repeating it. Imagine--what if we all decided, together, that the world is a clean bright, prosperous place for all life? OK,OK, I just asked you to imagine. But, are you carrying around images in your mind's eye that would ensure disaster, gloom and doom for yourself and the rest of us? Think, see, imagine, feel deeply--because what you are within yourself MATTERS. Your sense of self, the strength and courage of your willingness to share in an abundant world can only make you happier and really helps the rest of us.

Together we face challenging times. The first challenge is an internal cleansing of our own roadblocks, negativity and self-doubt. Come on...we can do it...together...just choose in the magnificence of your free will to live in Beauty, Community and Wealth.

Make the choice. Make the choice every day in mind, soul, heart and action. Then get ready to be amazed!!!!!!!
